Sustainability & Responsibility

We would rather show our working than make big promises. Decortie designs and manufactures its own furniture, which means we control the materials we buy, the way we make things and how we treat the people who make them.

Certified, responsibly sourced materials

Our production is audited against recognised international standards, including FSC® chain-of-custody for wood-based materials, BSCI and SEDEX social-compliance audits for working conditions, and EUTR due diligence on timber legality. Certificates are available on request for trade customers.

Made in our own factory

Because we manufacture in-house rather than trading other people's stock, we cut panels to optimise every sheet, reuse offcuts where we can and keep waste out of landfill. See Our Factory for more about how we make things.

Designed to last, packed to travel light

• Flat-pack by design: compact boxes mean more furniture per lorry and lower transport emissions per item.
• Durable finishes and replaceable parts, so a scratched door or a lost fitting does not mean a whole new unit.
• 2-year warranty on manufacturing defects.

Repair first

If something arrives damaged, we will always offer to send the replacement part free of charge before we collect and replace a whole item. It is faster for you and avoids shipping a bulky piece of furniture twice. Details are in our Return & Exchange Policy.

Where we can still improve

We are working on reducing plastic in our packaging and on publishing clearer material information on every product page. If you have questions about a specific product's materials or origin, ask us - we will answer honestly.
